Animatic and Feedback

Animatic for Music Video

To the left is our finished animatic for our music video. It is accompanied by the song that we will use as well - "Did You Miss Me?" by Olly Murs. The images were drawn by myself and the ideas were fed to me by Rob and Mohsin. The whole video was edited by Jonny and uploaded to Youtube. We are positive that we want to use these shots and techniques within our finished video. We are also very proud of our finished animatic and hope to replicate the precision in our actual music video. Throughout the draft animatic, Jonny noticed many pauses within the video, so he asked upon me to draw a few more frames so that the animatic could then move smoothly. He also noticed how it was too long near the end of the video, so he removed a few shots that were not necessarily crucial to the story of the music video, these shots were number 37 and 46. These problems symbolise just why we needed the animatic in order to get the idea of how the actual video will result. The whole thing was also edited by Jonny on his MacBook using iMovie

Feedback for our Animatic

Once we had finished the animatic, we went to search for a boy and girl to represent both genders of our target audience. Denva Bucke and Corie Farrow both volunteered to answer our questions, which were created by myself, Jonny and Mohsin, asked by Jonny, and the video itself was filmed by Rob. From the qualitative questions, we collected a range of feedback from both of our interviewees that we will take to our final draft in order to please our target audience. From the interviews, we can see that we must incorporate a range of dance moves to make it look well polished and "jazzy". To do this, we must make the dancing well choreographed in order for it to match the upbeat pop song, which proves conventional within many Chris Brown songs as he sings while he professionally dances. Denva also liked how we brought our characters back from our preliminary task, which we were quite proud of as we were dubious of choosing to bring them back. As for the feedback, Corie stated how he wished there was more stills within the animatic to make it more life like. We were not extremely offended by this as this will not affect our final product. Once it was all filmed, Jonny later edited it on his MacBook using iMovie once more.
