Initial Magazine Advert

Audience Feedback

We recieved qualitative data from 9 males and 9 feemales, we did this feedback in order to see where our magazine advert stands in the production stage and whether it needed many more, or hardly any improvements. The main critisms was the lack of colour, and aspect that we can incorporate. But we also featured a vast amount of positive feedback which boosted our confidence as the audience liked the professionalism and overall aesthetics of the advert.

Final Magazine Advert

Similar to the final digipak, the magazine advert was created on Affinity Pro by Jonny on his Macbook.  The only main change from our draft was the kiss mark in the top right corner that we have also featured on many of our other products such as the digipak and even in the actual music video (synergy). The mid shot of us on the front of the magazine advert is similar to that of many other boy groups like 5 Seconds of Summer or One Direction. This makes it conventional (Neale's theory of repetition) and already succesful as it attracts the reader to our image (Dyer's Star Theory). The fact that we featured the digipak on the bottom of the advert also shows synergy and links all of our products together as one. The lipstick mark in the right hand corner brings colour to the advert as many of the people within our feedback questionnaires requested for more colours, to which we obliged. This helps us reach a larger audience as we have made changes in order to make our target audience happy. The black font against the white background reflects hopw we stand out as 'stars' and it very conventional because it is often used on digipaks as it shows formality and professionalsim. We take up one third of the magazine advert in order to come across as normal people, it shows that we do not possess big egos like many stars. This creates a bond between us and the reader (Personal Relations). Overall, myself and my group are very happy with the finished result as we think that it looks professional and conforms with conventional magazine adverts.
