The video above is the focus group we conducted in order to gather the opinions and views of our target audience which would then help us appeal to the larger target audience. When we asked of their first mpressions, they stated how it was humourous, which was what we wished for, well choreographed and overall quite goodThe nex question was 'Who was your favourite character?" to which most replied Josh (the female). This also pleased us as we wished for the video to be humourous much like other boy bands whom often have a 'cheeky' attitude. We then discussed the setting to which Josh Cant answered how the end setting had a nice 'disco' feel, this was good as we wished for the dancing scene to have connotations of fun. The next question we asked was about the costumes and whether you would typically see them in videos from the pop genre.  Jade replied that the costumes are modern, to which we were delighted as we wish to appeal to a modern audience of youthfulness (Goodwin’s ‘common values’ theory). Once we had gathered this information, we then asked whether there was any room for improvement within our music video, to which the majority thought that the typography could have a different colour rather than black, which indicates darker genres, and is overall negative. Lewis Haynes also stated how the camera was quite shakey at times and Ella felt that the final walk-away scene with the female protagonist is too long. To improve this we could feature a close up of her winking in order to fill the scene with more humour. When we finally create our final piece, all of the points mentioned above will be considered because if we do not listen to our target audience, then we will not attract our desired audience, and subsequently become unsuccessful.
