Final Cut

07/02/2016

Above is the final cut for mine and my group's music video. nce we had recieved the feedback from our target audience members, we returned to the rough cut and changed and added elements that we felt were most necessary in order to satisfy our mass audience. Here are the things we did change:

  • We used a white font in order to have brighter connotations, rather than keeping the black font that was criticised within the rough cut feedback video. White font is also much more conventional.

  • We also added a slow motion effect at 2:23 when the girl flicks her hair. This is in order to add more humour as well as toy with Mulvey's Male Gaze theory.

  • Our audience also commented on the shakey cam and how it comes across as slightly improfessional. In order to satisfy our audience, we decided to fast forward the pan as it covered up the shakey hands. The effect also shows the delusional state of the female character as she seems uncomfortable.

  • We also included a jump cut from a long shot of the female character walking off with the unnamed male character, to a close-up of the female character winking towards the camera. The reason for this was because our audience members commented on it during our feedback video. This adds humour to the video as before, the audience couldn't see Josh wink, and now they can.
